Drawings of Fine Wine Bottles

Grand Cru is a series of drawings of some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Historic Bordeaux châteaux, legendary producers and emerging estates are interpreted with a deep appreciation for the bottles, labels, names and the cultural history they embody.

Drawn with broad Promarkers and ultra-fine liners, the works are inspired by the rich tradition of twentieth-century poster art, where illustration, typography and graphic design merged into works of art in their own right.

Each bottle carries the imprint of its terroir — landscape, climate, craftsmanship and history. Every vintage captures a particular place and a particular moment in time, turning the bottle into a message in a bottle from the past.

The labels preserve a visual language shaped by European heraldry, calligraphy and classical typography. The names become part of the drawings themselves. Their rhythm, sound and letterforms add a verbal dimension, allowing language and image to merge into a single visual experience.

Grand Cru celebrates wine as one of civilisation’s finest expressions of terroir, craftsmanship and art de vivre. The bottles become symbols of memory, beauty, impermanence and the enduring art of living.
